Born in France, raised in the Netherlands and in love with Italy, Giovana Vander Bro embodies the European spirit all round: warm, charming and sophisticated, bright with humour and colour.

When drawing, she enjoys both capturing stills of everyday life and conjuring fantastic and exotic scenarios – busy cafés along the Mediterranean riviera, panthers crouching in lush jungles, ladies choosing sweets from a wall of pastries in a pâtisserie and dragon-riding angels leaving trails on fire over the city.

For Castello di Cigognola, Giovana created a series of illustrations celebrating our history and our wines.
